1. What is DSL?

DSL is Digital Subscriber Line, a proven technology that uses existing
copper wires that provide you with fast Internet access. Because it's
digital, not analog, you can enjoy speeds up to 30 times faster than
your current modem.

2. Why should I pay more?

DSL offers many offers many benefits to your business that modem access
can't measure up to. You never need to dial in to connect to the
Internet again. With higher speeds you'll save a tremendous
amount of time while searching for information on the Internet. You
can access and send reports, documents and other vital data at a
moment's notice. Time is money and having a faster Internet connection
saves you a lot of money.

3. Do I have to purchase new equipment and
change my entire network of PC's and printers?

Not at all. All it takes is a single digital router and a network card in each PC
and everyone in your office can enjoy DSL.

4. Is this a permanent connection?

Yes. It is a dedicated line.

5. Do I still need a telephone line?

DSL runs on your existing analog telephone line. Since different
frequencies are used, you can be on the Internet and on the phone
or send or receive a fax at the same time.

6. Aren't ISDN and DSL the same?

No. The advantage with having DSL service is that you have a
dedicated line and that by having DSL you don't get charged per minute.

7. How long does it take to be installed?

5-6 weeks. As soon as we get an install date for your DSL service,
you will be notified so you can make arrangements to be present.
Installation lasts 1-2 hours.

8. Whose line is being used?

The local exchange companies.

9. Why is DSL better than a cable modem?

Because no speeds are guaranteed, you could end up with very slow speeds
if there many users online.

10. Will I own the equipment?

Yes, once you have paid the setup fees and equipment costs.

11. Isn't DSL mostly for businesses?

No, with our new lower DSL prices it is designed for residential service too.

12. What are the hidden costs to me?

There aren't any. There is a flat monthly fee which covers the line and service.
There are absolutely no per minute charges.

13. Can I have voice/phone use at the same time
that I'm on the Internet?

Yes, but then you still pay the phone company all charges for your phone bill
as usual. You will then be able to receive calls while you are on the Internet.

14. Does the monthly charge include the Internet
connection and the DSL circuit?

Yes, it includes the Internet connection and the DSL circuit.

15. What is a NIC?

NIC stand for Network Interface Card, which is an expansion board
inserted into your computer so it can be connected to the DSL network.

16. What do you install?

The DSL service on your existing phone line and the DSL modem connected
to your computer.

17. What is a Proxy IP?

Proxy IP is a number which is provided when using DSL to act as a security
system for your computer so that it's very difficult for someone else to get into it.

18. Is DSL faster than a T1 Frame Relay Connection?

DSL is faster than most T1 Frame Relay Connections except a Full T1 Frame
because it runs at 1.544 Mbps each way.

19. Does DSL come with email or anything else?

Business DSL, when purchased with one of our hosting packages, includes
email for your web site, robust site hosting, statistic reports, and much more.

If you need additional email boxes, they are $3/month per box.

Residential DSL comes with the same things as dial up accounts:
an email box, up to 10 email aliases, newsgroups, and 10mb of personal web space.

If you need additional email boxes, they are $3/month per box.

20. Does DSL come with an IP address?
What if I need more than one?

It comes with one IP address and more are available for an additional monthly fee.
DSL routers are very flexible so in most cases additional IP's are not necessary.

If you do need more IPs, here is our current pricing:

Additional 1-13 IP addresses (monthly) $35.00
Additional 14-28 IP addresses (monthly) $60.00
Additional 29-61 IP addresses (monthly) $90.00

21. How many computers can I use on an ADSL connection?

You can have as many computers on an ADSL connection as you want.

22. Are there any local loop charges from the
phone company added onto to the cost of DSL?

No. There are no hidden costs.
